Winter is here and the bitter cold is now a norm.
I used to hate winter and freezing temperatures. Which, I realized was mostly from lacking the proper outerwear to make living in a cold place not completely awful every time I go outside.
First I found a puffy, warm, and cute-ish jacket to wear every day. Then a scarf the size of a blanket. Leather boots and then leather gloves. Still lacking though was a cute winter hat that made me feel chic while still providing warmth.
I’ve usually just gone without one and never put the effort into both finding and buying a good winter hat.
So, I was super excited when I found the brand MYSSY. Hand knit hats by Grandmas (yes Grandmas!) in Finland.
Each hat is handmade by using their hand-dyed yarn from their own herd of sheep. You can read more about their farm, heritage and company here!
There are so many different styles and colors of yarn to choose from. I really had a difficult time deciding the best color for my wardrobe but ended on dark green and dark grey.
I love the brighter colors but for foundational pieces, I wanted to stick to more neutral options. Although, if you do have a pretty neutral wardrobe, a fun pop of yellow, red, or pink would be a nice addition to a winter look. When I look to add more hats from MYSSY, I’ll most likely try out a bright yellow or red.
