I hope you all had a great weekend! I had a fun time celebrating the 4th in the city. An unusual holiday since I usually travel however, it was a lot more fun staying in NYC than I expected.
Going out in the city with everything closed has made getting dressed a little tricker. With the summer heat and everything closed, all activities are done outside. So I’ve stuck to wearing really simple and cool things. This black linen shift has been a weekly favorite for outdoor dinners and park visits.
In my opinion, a black linen shift dress is top five most classic, timeless, and simple summer items to wear. Easily dressed up or down, it’s incredibly versatile while also so effortless. Pair it with white sneakers like I did in this outfit or with a pair of leather sandals. Add wedges for a dressier summer look or flats for a dressed up casual look.
Really, any linen shift dress is a summer staple. I opted for black since it’s sleek, chic, and easily worn with anything. You can just throw it on, add a belt or not, and then a pair of shoes! So simple.
