If you asked my way preppier self six years ago if she’d ever wear high top converse, the answer would most likely be no. But as my style has changed over the years, especially after moving to NYC, these classic shoes fit in really well with my wardrobe and have become a closet staple.
I wasn’t sure at first if I could pull them off. Then, I decided because I like them I should wear them anyways. Are you ever afraid to try something because it doesn’t feel exactly “you”? As my style evolves, I find this happening here and there. And when it does, I always say if I like it then I’m going to wear it.
But when you buy something you don’t usually wear, or is a newer style to an evolving closet, it’s hard to know how to wear it. When I bought these, I had to no idea how to style high top converse.
It took many a Pinterest search plus trial and error and now I feel like I know exactly what in my closet to wear with these shoes.
This spring I’ve been wearing them super simply like with today’s outfit. I love how they look styled with wide leg jeans and a t-shirt. It’s a simple way to style high top converse that’s easy to accessorize, chic, and extremely comfortable.
I also plan on styling these shoes with linen and summery dresses as well as with romantic blouses and jeans. I’ll definitely be sharing a lot more warm weather outfit inspiration featuring these shoes this spring and summer!
