I started planning my summer wardrobe about a month ago. A lot more time than I usually give myself to plan a seasonal wardrobe. I wanted enough time to really think about what I wanted to add. Enough time to find outfit inspiration that I most wanted to replicated.
My plan was to make a list of things that would be in my dream summer wardrobe. I then explored Instagram and Pinterest to find images of outfits I want to wear this summer. This helped me to find the gaps in my closet.
Through this, I found so many new brands and new items that ultimately inspired my summer wardrobe.
So, today I want to share with you a few of my favorite things that I’m most excited about adding to my summer specific wardrobe.
A few weeks ago the brand Swedish Stockings reached out to me about their sustainably made hosiery. I usually just buy mine from the drug store not knowing that there’s an ethical alternative even available to purchase.
You can read more about how these are made here. Do you ever buy stockings that feel as though they’re going to rip or snag as you’re putting them on? These don’t feel that way at all.
I added a pair of black stockings and white stockings to my closet. I’m very much looking forward to trying out different ways to wear and style the white stockings.
I also recently discovered the brand I Love Linen when one of their shirts popped up in my Instagram feed. I love their name too cause I do, in fact, love linen.
When it comes to spending money on clothing, I have a very hard time finding tops I find worthy of the price tag. But, when I found this I Love Linen short sleeve oxford, I knew I would wear it all the time. In spring, summer, and fall/winter if I can figure out how to properly style it.
I was originally going to buy the white. White is versatile, safe. Yet, it wasn’t my favorite. The pink was. So I went with first instinct to get the color I like and do not regret it. The pink is beautiful.
Short Sleeve Oxfords
Oxfords are my go-to tops. I’ve tried to analyze why that is. I think it’s ultimately because I like the way I look in oxfords more so than I do in other tops. I find them easy to style and always work appropriate.
So, for my summer wardrobe, I’ve branched out into wearing more short sleeve oxfords. Styling these with shorts and wide leg pants are two outfit formulas I’m very much looking forward to wearing.
