Somehow it’s already mid June and I have yet to go to the beach. I’m hoping to change that this weekend and head over to the beach for a day trip. Which got me thinking about how to style my summer capsule wardrobe for a beach day.
Admittedly, I love styling outfits for the beach. I’m always inspired to dress more classically. I like to draw inspiration from Jackie Kennedy for classic yet effortless summer outfits on the water. Less on the preppy side but nonetheless still a tad preppy.
Does your style ever change based on the activity? I’ve been noticing that for work I’m very casual and not often feminine in my outfits. And when I head to a summer activities I go straight for the classic and 60’s prep inspired combinations.
Today’s outfit is a simple black and white look for cooler beach breezes. A combination of easy denim shorts, my favorite black tank top from Organic Basics, and my new long sleeve linen button up from my summer capsule wardrobe. Plus, an added straw panama hat to top off a classic beach outfit aesthetic.
It’s not too preppy. Still very minimal. Still very me. But makes me feel like I could be in Cape Cod or somewhere in New England at a preppy summer gathering.
