Multiple times last week I woke up to sunny weather, didn’t check the daily forecast, and went off to work. Then, as it was time to either go outside for lunch or walk home, it would start to rain. Not a full on downpour but that light drizzly rain that’s slightly annoying and still not great for leather shoes and a non waterproof coat.
I find those types of days the hardest to dress for. It’s not really going to rain but it will drizzle at some point. On these days I don’t want to fully commit to rain boots and bringing a change of shoes to work.
It’s especially hard in the spring and summer when it’s warm and many layers are not comfortable for walking outside.
So, I decided to make a go-to rainy day outfit formula for rainy spring days like these which I hope you all can use too! My favorite part? Rain boots are not required.
Go-to rainy day outfit spring formula:
- Rubber sole shoes/sneakers
- High waisted jeans
- A light t-shirt
- Light raincoat for warm weather
I had mentioned in a previous post I’ve recently discovered the ease of styling t-shirts and this outfit is a great example. You can switch out the t-shirt for a sleeveless or short sleeve blouse to stay cool. They’re also nice because if they do get wet you can’t really tell.
I opt for sneakers instead of rain boots on these light days. White converse might not be the absolute best but I actually find they haven’t gotten wet or stained when I wear them on drizzly days.
