At the end of summer, I moved to a new apartment in Manhattan. I didn’t have much furniture from my move so was basically starting from scratch. An exciting opportunity to finally create my dream apartment.
I had the hardest time deciding on which style direction to go. My apartment has a slightly industrial yet pre-war aesthetic with black hardware, high ceilings, and tons of sunlight on bright white walls.
The design I kept being drawn to was a minimal, vintage, yet feminine design approach with more color, vintage feeling fabrics, and a darker more eclectic vibe. Having very high ceilings, walls decorated with eclectic paintings and photos kept catching my attention. I found myself leaning towards navy, green, and gold. I thought when I started decorating my apartment I’d lean towards grey, white, and linen fabrics. But that was not the case.
So, with a newly decorated apartment and new found love of interior design, I wanted to share the images I used and am using as my NYC apartment decorating inspiration!
Apartment details: my apartment is a one bedroom with the kitchen in the living room in classic small NYC apartment style.
