I recently traveled to New Orleans for my bachelorette party. A few close friends and I went over the long weekend in January for a winter getaway down south. I had mentioned a few weeks ago that I would share my packing list and today I’m finally sharing what I brought!
It’s officially February! I can’t believe how quickly January flew by. Now that January is over, it’s time to think about the closest holiday: Valentine’s Day. I like to wait until it’s actually February before actually thinking about Valentine’s Day outfits. Jumping ahead feels too fast. But now is the perfect time to start planning and looking for outfit inspiration.
It’s been absolutely freezing in NYC the past few days. Not as cold as the Midwest so I can’t complain too much to anyone reading this who lives there. But, as someone who has never lived more north than New York City before, it’s really cold.
When I think of linen I think of bright spring days, warm summer weather, light pastels, and summer sandals. It’s one of my favorite fabrics to wear despite it’s wrinkling tendencies. If anything, the wrinkling makes linen all the more charming. Despite the typically summer aesthetic assigned to this fabric, it can be worn throughout the year. It’s all in the styling and fabric color.
It’s easy to wear the same thing over and over during the winter time. Especially if you live somewhere that has a January with consistently below freezing temperatures. So, today I’m sharing a winter outfit formula to mix things up: a sweater + shorts + tights.
