I went back and forth a lot on whether I wanted to do a spring capsule wardrobe or not. I thought about just going straight for a summer one and using this time to plan. But instead I thought hey, I’m wearing the same clothes this spring anyways, why not just share my core spring wardrobe, or spring capsule wardrobe with you all.
So today’s the day! I’ve put together a fun graphic of what I’ll be wearing this spring. By spring I mean through May. After that I’ll switch to my summer capsule wardrobe which I’m currently planning right now.
Choosing the Right Clothing for Spring Weather
Do those of you reading create seasonal capsule wardrobes? I find it helpful to see other capsule wardrobes to find inspiration for my own. I’m hoping that you can do the same by taking these pieces I chose and color palette to find inspiration or guidance for creating your own spring wardrobe. Or maybe to help find new items to wear this time of year.
Spring’s a tough season to plan for because the weather is all over the place. Days can be cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. I made sure to include a mixture of sandals and non-sandals as well as pants and dresses. Dresses I find to be amazing choices to wear now since you can layer them so easily.
What to Do With Your Other Clothes
I don’t want to get into too many details about building a capsule wardrobe. But one thing I do definitely want to note is what I did with all my other clothes. I think it’s very important to point out, I own more than what is listed here. Do not feel like you need to shrink your closet or feel any stress for having a lot of clothing.
The goal is to see what you like to wear, what you wear the most, and develop your style and closet.
My cold weather clothing I’ll put in storage, I have a section of my closet just for formal wear, and I will still mix in some items not listed here.
I like to think of capsule wardrobes more in the sense of a core closet. These are the clothes I wear all the time. The items I never even try to touch I’ll sell at the end of this capsule. The items I do try to mix in and wear more frequently than I thought, I will add those to my summer wardrobe (if seasonally appropriate).
I hope you all find this helpful and can use it with planning your own closets! Please feel free to leave any questions in the comments below.
