This time of year basically every outfit consists of at least two separate layers. From walking to work when it’s 32 degrees to then being in a warm office, it’s so hard to dress for the temperature. So I usually just put on a bunch of layers to do the trick.
I’m usually more concerned about being cold than hot. Probably because I’m freezing most of the time and very rarely overheated. So, today is all about winter layering ideas. Specifically three I like to utilize every week:
- Sweater Over a Turtleneck
- Large Scarf Over a Sweater
- Button Down Sweater Over a Button Down
Easy Ways to Layer
Sweater Over a Turtleneck
Sweater over a turtleneck – stylish with or without the sweater. A black turtleneck always looks good but with a crewneck sweater on top, it still looks stylish and is even warmer. This is one my favorite combos right now. The turtleneck is on the thin side so its perfect for the office.
Large Scarf Over a Sweater
A large scarf is currently my must have winter accessory. I wear it under my large winter coat when outside and as a shawl when indoors. It’s so warm and easy to throw on and off. It also pairs great with super simple outfits to add an extra pattern or color.
Button Down Sweater Over a Button Down
My parents recently went on a trip to Ireland and this sweater was one of the gifts they brought back for me. I’d been wanting to add a button down sweater to my closet with a vintage type feel. I didn’t have anything specific in mind so was pleasantly surprised with what my parents chose. It’s exactly what I was hoping for. This sweater pairs well over any button down in my closet.
That wraps it up! Three of my favorite and simple ways to wear layers this winter. All three of these looks are easy and versatile to wear all winter long. What’s your favorite way to layer in the winter time?
