3 Outfit Ideas for Snowy Work Days

For today’s post I want to talk about work outfits to wear when it snows. It’s only snowed once here in NYC so far this year but when it did I realized I hadn’t thought of any work outfits to wear when it snows. Especially since my commute is a 20 minute walk door to door, I need to have to have some weather appropriate options. So, for those of you who live somewhere that gets some snow this time of year, this post is for you!

For those of you reading who don’t live anywhere that really gets snow, I think all three of these outfits are also great for cold, rainy work days. Whenever I wake up to snow, or even rain in the winter, I immediately take a more casual approach to the day. Especially snow, there’s something so calming about about a snowy work day. Everything feels quiet and relaxed. You can just throw on something simple with a bunch of layers and head out.

Today we’re going to review three work outfits to wear when it snows. All three are super customizable and really simple to replicate.

Let’s get started!

A Large Blanket Scarf, Sweater, and Rain Boots

If it’s not extremely slick out, rain boots are a great substitute for actual snow boots. Especially for more slushy weather or snow that melts by the time you leave work. Here I took simple black jeans, a warm, white sweater, and my warmest and largest scarf. This scarf serves as both a shall, warm scarf, and small blanket to use at work. I couldn’t survive winter without it.

Also, these rain boots from Alice + Whittles are ethically made and extremely comfortable. They’re a great multi-purpose and multi-seasonal waterproof shoe.

Black Turtleneck | Everlane Straight Leg Jeans | L.L. Bean Boots

Trousers, a Turtleneck, and L.L. Bean Boots

I really like how Bean boots look with these Everlane straight leg pants. Paired together, it’s extremely comfortable too. Here, I added my black turtleneck as a simple top for warmth. A black turtleneck really can make any outfit look more stylish. I also like wearing this look with my white sweater above instead of the turtleneck.

Add taller, thick socks since these pants are slightly cropped. This outfit makes for a casually and put together work outfit for a cold, snowy day.

Jeans, a Chunky Sweater, and L.L. Bean Boots

Bean boots are my official snowy day shoe. These shoes are amazing for bad weather. They’re warm, lace up tight, and have good traction. I wear these on my walk to work on really snowy days and they do really well. This outfit is very casual and relaxed. My work environment does not have an official dress code so I’m able to wear jeans to work. If you do have a dress code, these pants could be substituted with black casual work pants instead.

For extra warmth, add a flannel over your sweater.

There you have it! Three work outfits to wear when it snows. I have these three outfits in mind for when I wake up and it’s either snowing or supposed to snow on a work day.
