Happy week of Thanksgiving! I traveled home for the holiday over the weekend. Luckily, my family and my Fiancés family both live around D.C. which makes sharing the holidays pretty easy. Since I’ll be home for the whole week, I spent last week brainstorming simple holiday outfit ideas. So today, I’m sharing two of the simple holiday outfit ideas I’ll be wearing for travel and events this holiday season to hopefully give you all inspiration for your holiday outfits.
Outfit planning for a week home between my family and my Fiancés is always tricky. My outfit needs for this trip include:
- Travel outfit for both weekends
- Thanksgiving Day outfit
- Casual outfits for daytime events
To plan outfits for these events, I like to make sure the items I choose for each outfit are versatile, comfortable, and casual but not too casual. Plus, the individual items I’m wearing should be able to be mixed and match with each other.
So, here are two of the outfits I’ll be wearing for the holidays this week and for other winter events as well.
Simple Holiday Outfit Ideas
Outfit 1: White Turtleneck with High Waisted Jeans
I love this winter look right now. I’ll probably wear this outfit on Thanksgiving Day. I’m also bringing this turtleneck in black which might be safer for potential spills. I mostly love this outfit for how simple and classic it is. As are all the outfits I love. These jeans are also loose enough and the turtleneck stretchy enough (warm too) that this outfit is perfect for eating events, travel, and sitting around at home.
Other ways I plan on styling this outfit is by adding my toggle coat, a plaid scarf, a hat, ankle boots, a belt, and sneakers.
Outfit 2: Chunky White Sweater with Wide Leg Jeans and Ankle Boots
These pants are my most stylish and comfortable at the same time pants. I love to travel in them because they’re just so easy to wear. It’s crazy how easy it is to style them too. Throw on a sweater and some ankle boots with these and it’s perfect for travel, eating a lot of food, hanging out, or lunch out with family or friends.
Other ways to mix this outfit up include adding a plaid scarf, a hat, a toggle coat, or a camel coat. The shoes can also be swapped out for simple flats, sneakers, or loafers.
